While doing some research on what happens during the performance of Lasik, and keeping track of all the information in my spreadsheet, there are quite a lot of before during and after surgery that I have noted. I have a column for what to do before my baseline evaluation. For one thing, I should not wear contacts for up to several weeks before my baseline evaluation. I need to give my cornea time to return to its natural shape before my evaluation, so that there will be no negative consequences. If I do not stop wearing contacts in enough time, I could have inaccurate measurements and a poor surgical plan, which could result in poor vision after the Lasik eye surgery. The measurements determine how much corneal tissue will be removed. The measurements may need to be repeated at least a week after the initial evaluation and before the surgery to make certain they have not changed, especially since I wear hard contact lenses. I am certain with the doctor I have chosen I will get great care for my eyes. I am really putting myself in the hands of a skilled surgeon who has done this procedure over a thousand times already.
