I think I'm finally starting to convince my parents that I should get that Lasik procedure done. I ran the Lasik cost by them and they both said they expected it to be more expensive. I was explaining that it's just better for me not to have glasses or contacts because of all the sports I'm involved with. I told them I don't want to be right in the middle of a pole vault, for example, and have a contact lens fall out and lose focus. You could seriously wind up injuring yourself that way. They told me they never really though of it that way before. They figured I was just interested in it from a cosmetic perspective. They thought I only wanted it so I could look good in front of my friends which isn't the case at all. I could care less what I look like to other people. I feel like getting the procedure done would help me take my athletic endeavors to the next level. I think the fact that I would get a Lasik surgery done shows I'm serious about my practices and competitions, you know? They told me they're going to talk about it with each other for a few days and then they'll get back to me with their final decision. I'm interpreting that as a very good sign right now. Usually when they take that much time out to talk about something it means I get my way! Yay!
