Summer vacation was almost here. My step-grandchildren were planning to spend some time with me when they were off school. I was really nervous, as this would be the first time I had the children to myself since my son married their mother six months ago. I haven’t been around youngsters for a long time. My baby was already forty years old. I have spoken on the phone with them many times and they tell me they are really excited to spend some in Chicago, as they were not here before. What do kids like to do and see now days? I had memories of all the Chicago entertainment that my son enjoyed and wondered if my grandchildren would like to go to any of the places I took their step-dad.
I had planned to take them to museums, zoos, the beach and the aquarium among a few more places. It was a hard decision for me to make as Chicago has so many wonderful entertainment venues to choose from. I decided to send them pictures and a little overview of my selections and let them choose what interests them the most. They put a checkmark on every one of my selections. They think I’m great to find so much for them to see. I guess I will be very busy this summer enjoying my grandchildren and Chicago entertainment.
