CROSS TRAINING

Tara went with me to the consultations with the laser surgeons. I was going to talk to several of them, just to get the feel of which one I am more comfortable with, and then decide on lasik eye surgery. I think that I have decided on which doctor I want to use. Tara thinks she is good, but too young. I'm going with the one I feel more comfortable with, and she knew what he was talking about, and she has a really busy practice for such a young doctor. Her reputation was great. She had been in the same location for just 2 years. But Tara was saying to Sue that she is 23 years old and too young to be practicing and operating on people. I said the age didn't matter; it was the ability. Dr. Randi Callahan is also the great grand daughter of Mr. Callahan. Mr. Callahan is 95 years old and a member of my support group. Mr. Callahan is training to run in the Chicago Marathon. I found out later that he trains with his Randi, his great grand daughter. They run 5 to 6 miles per day, and cross train on weights every other day. That's more than me. I'm lucky if I can manage a few minutes on a treadmill most days. So I have decided to go with Dr. Randi Callahan, even though Tara is not too thrilled.
